The alternating grain patterns of the individual veneers add strength and durability to the plywood.To create plywood, the process begins with the selection of suitable logs, where the goal is to identify and separate the front and core veneers based on species, physical geometry, and quality. The logs are then loaded into a peeling station, where they are cut into standard lengths and the bark is removed to improve the roundness of the cross-section. The peeled logs are then sent through a series of rotating blades to gradually scrape off the bark, resulting in a continuous thin sheet called a "veneer."

The veneers are then classified and sent to a drying machine, where both sides of the veneer are trimmed by blades to produce neat edges. Next, the veneers are fed into a glue spreader, where adhesive is applied. The individual veneer layers are manually stacked to form a plywood sandwich, with smaller-sized veneers connected to create standard-sized boards. In a process known as cross-graining, each adjacent layer is rotated by up to 90 degrees. This cross-grain plywood is able to resist splitting when nailed at the edges, minimizing expansion and contraction and improving stability.The assembled layers are then subjected to heat and pressure in a hydraulic press, where the boards are fully flattened and bonded together. This process also helps to ensure the plywood remains flat. Afterward, the panels are trimmed to size and undergo repairs and sanding to achieve a smooth surface and uniform thickness. Depending on market specifications, the panels can be laid with the face side up or with both the face and back sides exposed, before being trimmed to their final dimensions. The finished plywood units are then packaged and shipped.
